Increasing mercury (Hg) levels in seabird eggs in North Greenland

Hg levels in the arctic environment have substantially increased over the past decades. This includes also seabird eggs (see a recent study). But the main sources of Hg to Greenland and the pathways through food webs remains unclear.


Common eider (Somateria mollissima) females on nests in Svalbard. The species was included in the recent study from northwest Greenland
